The fourth industrial revolution calls for companies to be creative and change the current way of doing business. This chapter explores Industry 4.0, digital citizenship, and advanced connectivity technologies. The objective of this chapter was to explore what managers need to do to adapt to the new normal of Industry 4.0, where there is now a need to have smart factories by configuring machines and gadgets to supervise humans and report to managers through cyber-physical systems (CPS). The COVID-19 302 pandemic sent panic waves to most managers across different sectors as they were forced to stay at home and interact with digital tools to monitor and manage their workplaces. This accelerated the movement into the fifth industrial revolution. The new environment requires managers to embrace emerging technologies and big data opportunities and then change the way of doing business. This triggered us to carry out this study. We explored the new requirements, then identified new opportunities for managers in the big data environment to merge the two. As part of this study, we interviewed senior managers and executives. The results revealed that there is a need for a paradigm shift in the current ways of doing business. We then developed a framework to accelerate the adoption of new technologies to improve data analytics.
