In the dynamic landscape of drug discovery and development, the union of pharmacovigilance and drug repurposing emerges as a promising alliance, which may revolutionize the pharmaceutical paradigm. Pharmacovigilance-based drug repurposing is an emerging field. The first part of the chapter introduces the concept of signal and inverse signal using examples and figures. The second part explores the various techniques used for repurposing drugs along with a suitable flow chart. The third part of the chapter provides insight into the pharmacovigilance approach used by researchers for the repurposing of drugs. Lastly, the chapter provides the current challenges and future perspectives followed by the conclusion.
