Authenticated privacy preservation is regarded as one of the most challenging aspect of vehicular ad hoc networks for assuring the secure travel of road safety-related information. These messages are classified as emergency messages thus, they requires immediate response without any delay. On account of this, for ensuring seamless connectivity and information privacy during vehicular communication a distributed blockchain based Authenticated Emergency Message Transmission (AEMT) scheme has been proposed for software defined vehicular networks. In order to guarantee the message authentication, a proof of presence based mechanism has been designed for effective V2V and V2I based communication. Additionally, blockchain has been implemented over road side units for the maintaining the privacy of each emergency message. This proposed scenario has been implemented by using network simulator (NS-3) and the exhibited results has provided satisfactory performance.
