Internet of things (IoT) is a rapidly developing technology empowering human beings to use various applications faster. IoT enables the user to access its application remotely, which helps the user connect or monitor from a remote location and makes life convenient. The proliferation of IoT devices is gaining the attention of consumers and researchers. The bloom in IoT and its application in various security-sensitive devices create the crucial need to consider and maintain proper security measures. IoT devices are resource-constrained, causing them susceptible to different inside and outside attacks. The routing protocol does the routing in IoT networks for low power and lossy networks that is Routing Protocol for Low-Power and Lossy Networks (RPL). RPL facilitates an energy-efficient mechanism and is adaptable in various environments. However, still, RPL suffers from multiple attacks. The chapter reviews the RPL protocol, its associated attacks, and the available solutions to those attacks.
