The novel technology is proposed as a quantum rod‐based truly random number generator. The objective is to construct a device array by stacking together 5 layers: 1) backlight‐unit; 2) thin‐film transistor liquid crystal display; 3) quarter waveplate; 4) & 5) quantum rod films, red and green, respectively, aligned uniformly in‐plane yet orthogonally to each other. QR's anisotropic absorption nature plays a key role in generating 4 different pixel outputs: 0 ‐ pixel is off; 1 ‐ excited pixel is predominantly green; 2 ‐ yellowish; 3 ‐ red. Further, TRNG is enabled by rotating excitation polarization‐direction.
