Efficient Dynamic symmetric Searchable Encryption with Forward and Backward Security

Data outsourcing is becoming increasingly popular due to its low cost and flexibility. However, a problem arises when the cloud server used to store data is honest-but-curious. Searchable encryption is an efficient technology that aims to enable accurate searches without leaking information. Nevertheless, most existing schemes fail to support dynamic updates or meet the privacy requirements of all users. Some existing solutions have been conducted to address these issues by implementing a dynamically searchable encryption scheme. In this paper, we propose a scheme that uses a B-tree to store search tokens and a new chained structure to store sets of files. This scheme supports both forward and backward privacy. Additionally, it prevents the data owner from knowing the specific content that the data user is interested in. In other words, this scheme enables mutual confidentiality between the cloud server, data owner, and data user.
