As the complexity of modern software systems continues to grow, observability and performance monitoring have become integral aspects of system design and operation. Time series databases are an integral component of the current technology ecosystem. This paper presents a detailed examination of the time series databases, shedding light on the synergies, and challenges, and some examples of commonly used databases. We often see papers that compare databases as a whole, in this paper we aim to compare databases considering their internal implementations which should enable one to select TSDBs better.
