A Delay Estimation Method of Two-path Transmission in Multi-hop Wireless Networks

Shaomin Liu, Cengcheng Guo · 2024

For multi-interface multi-channel wireless mesh networks, dual-path concurrent transmission is used to improve the real-time and reliability of transmission. Diffusion approximation theory is applied to analyze the end-to-end delay of this type of network and compared with the NS2 simulation results, and it is concluded that the general queuing network theoretical analysis method cannot accurately estimate the end-to-end delay of this type of network. By analyzing the error pattern between the theoretical results and the simulation results, a delay evaluation method based on the combination of experiment and theory is proposed. The new theoretical calculation results are obtained by applying this delay assessment method and compared with the simulation test data. The results show that the delay evaluation method can be used to analyze the end-to-end delay of wireless multi-hop networks under dual-path concurrent transmission.
