E-customer safety in digital environment from the seller's and the buyer's perspectives

Customer security affects over 22 million shopping sites and over 3 billion individuals globally. It is a societal issue that should be addressed from a sustainability perspective in the e-commerce industry. In this industry, new methods and tools are applied by e-sellers by cyber criminals, which drastically reduces the security level. The chapter’s goal is to outline the primary e-commerce concerns from the seller’s and the buyer’s perspectives, based on the author’s own research, and to suggest that these dangers might be mitigated, which should support equitable growth. By taking into account several stages of a purchase made on the internet, the hazards have been determined from the standpoint of the e-customer. The dangers in the context of online stores were examined using personnel, computer hardware, and software framework. According to studies, there are three primary areas where e-customers face threats: the security of their payment method, the security of their payment card information and personal information, and the security of the goods they have purchased. The security of the online store purchase has a significant impact on the security of the online customer. E-stores are not completely safe, according to this research because of carelessness and a lack of cybersecurity expertise.
