As autonomous driving technology advances, ensuring the safety of occupants and pedestrians remains a critical concern. This paper provides a qualitative review of antenna systems designed to enhance communication and sensing capabilities in Autonomous Driving Cars (ADCs) for collision avoidance systems (CASs). The discussed antenna designs incorporates Microstrip Patch Antennas (MSA) and multi-antenna arrays to optimize signal reception and transmission, facilitating vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V), vehicle-to-infrastructure (V2I) and vehicle-to-everything (V2X) communication. Through simulations and analysis done using CST Studio Suite, This paper explores the intricacies of antenna performance within the context of collision avoidance applications. Additionally, This work presents practical insights that contribute to both the theoretical understanding of antenna design for autonomous vehicles and the advancement of the field.
