Absolutely, effective onboarding plays a pivotal part in the succession and retention of new hires within organizations. It sets the tone for their experience, helping them acclimate to the company culture, understand their roles and responsibilities, and establish connections with colleagues. A well-planned onboarding process can importantly increase job satisfaction, productivity, and long-term commitment among new employees. Traditional onboarding methods often struggle to provide immersive and engaging training experiences that effectively convey job tasks and procedures. Augmented reality (AR) technology offers a promising solution by providing interactive and immersive training experiences that overlay digital information onto the real-world environment. This comparative study seeks to assess the efficiency of immersive Augmented Reality (AR) training in new hire onboarding, comparing it to conventional onboarding approaches. Through a randomized controlled trial, new hires will undergo either AR-based training or traditional training, and their learning outcomes, engagement levels, and retention of job-related knowledge and skills will be assessed. Qualitative interviews will also be conducted to gather insights into participants' experiences with AR-based onboarding. The results of this study will offer valuable insights into both the potential advantages and obstacles associated with integrating Augmented Reality (AR) technology to improve the onboarding procedures for new hires.
