A Comparative Study of NFC and Bluetooth for File Transfer Applications
Sanjay Choudhary, Himanshu Singla, Aniket · 2024
This study investigates the trade-offs between near field communication (NFC) and Bluetooth technologies for file transfer. We delve into critical factors like data transfer speed, power consumption, and user satisfaction to determine which technology reigns supreme in different contexts. Our findings suggest that NFC's strength lies in secure and swift device pairing, making it ideal for small file transfers. However, for larger files, its limitations in speed and efficiency become apparent. Bluetooth, while reliable for remote transfers, falls short in terms of security and quick pairing. Notably, users favor NFC's user-friendly experience, highlighting its potential for specific use cases. This study acknowledges its limitations and opens doors for future research exploring hybrid approaches or individual technology advancements to optimize file transfer experiences for diverse needs.
