Intelligent Data Exchange [iDX] for 5Gbps Consumer Data Switch Shows Energy Savings Over 95%

Based on the principle of enabling intelligent servers to request and provide data amongst themselves, we demonstrate an ultra-low power and ultra-low latency platform. Implemented using FTDI 32bit USB-to-FIFO Controllers and the EFINIX Trion T55 FPGA, the following paper demonstrates the ultra-low performance of a novel Intelligent Data Exchange [New iDX] platform directed at high volume consumer data traffic using USB 3.1 Gen 1 interfaces. Savings are shown of over 95% of power compared to traditional methods.
