Crime is an act or event punishable by law. As crime rates continue to rise, we need technology to reduce and investigate crime. Data mining algorithms and techniques are being applied to massive data sets to find patterns and links in order to detect and prevent crime. This subject is one that is rapidly expanding. Many sorts of crime-related data, including criminal histories, police reports, surveillance footage, and social media data, can be analysed using data mining techniques. Image processing is the art of processing data and facts before they are analysed. Data mining techniques can help investigate, predict, and prevent crime. The data mining techniques used in this article are decision trees, a priori algorithms, k-means clustering, and linear regression. These methods are used to uncover crime patterns.
