This chapter summarizes the potential application of cement-based sensors (CBSs) in various civil infrastructures, ranging from pavements, buildings, bridges, and high-speed railways to oil wells and tunnels. The CBSs can be applied not only for structural health monitoring but also for traffic speed and human motion detection. It can also be applied in railway sleeper to monitor the railway condition and the speed of high-speed carriage and isolate the different geological formations when applied in the oil well. For traffic speed detection in pavement, the exact vehicle speed can be calculated based on the two peaks induced by the front and back wheels. The CBSs can be well-embedded into various building structures, such as columns, beams, and arches. The smart brick can measure internal strain changes within the masonry and can detect alterations in strain after the formation of compressive cracks, particularly nearing the limit state conditions. The application of CBSs on bridges includes usage on the bridge concrete deck and piers. When applied on the concrete deck, they can serve for health monitoring and traffic flow monitoring. In terms of high-speed railway, the CBSs can be utilized in concrete slab track and sleeper for deformation and crack monitoring.
