Adaptive Time Synchronization Optimization Algorithm Based on Topology Control
Tong Liu, Xuesen Yang · 2024
To address the problems of cumulative multi-hop synchronization errors and poor adaptability in large-scale wireless sensor networks, this paper proposes a time synchronization optimization algorithm based on a novel topology. First, the optimal reference node is selected based on the information of the number of neighbor nodes in the network, the remaining energy, and so on. Then, a Voronoi polygon topology is established to determine the node identity (ID) in the topology structure. Second, the synchronization information is exchanged between adj acent nodes in the coverage area of the reference node to realize adaptive multi-region node joint time synchronization. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed algorithm can ensure a small synchronization error and low network energy consumption during the synchronization process. Additionally, compared with other typical topologies, the V oronoi topology exhibits improved connectivity efficiency and convergence time.
