A Robust Fall Detection System for Elderly Persons Using YOLO

This paper introduces a robust fall detection system for elderly persons that uses the capabilities of the You Only Look Once (YOLO) model version 8 object detection model developed by Ultralytics. The proposed system is mainly trained for the elderly population. The system integrates advanced deep learning and computer vision methods to deliver accurate and efficient fall detection, with an astounding accuracy rate of 90%. The primary purpose of the system is to address the unique challenges faced by elderly adults in distinct environmental contexts, ensuring their well-being, and tailoring interventions to meet their specific needs. The proposed model has shown promising results compared with its previous models.
