Sustainable computing has been heavily used over the past few decades in fields like social computing, agent systems powered by artificial intelligence, mobile computing, and the Internet of Things (IoT). IoT has an impact on people&s;s life in the social, economic, and commercial spheres. IoT nodes, however, typically have limited power, making them susceptible to various attacks when data is transmitted over an open channel like the Internet. To address the growing security issues in IoT systems and make them independent in energy collecting for efficient operation, a number of initiatives have been started in this area. These facts serve as our inspiration as we examine in this study the changing IoT device vulnerabilities. We offer a cutting-edge survey that covers a variety of IoT-related topics. We also give a brief review of the IoT, sustainable IoT, its architecture, and the Internet Engineering Task Force protocol family. The open-source tools and datasets for facilitating the creation of IoT research will be reviewed in the next section. The chapter additionally presents an exhaustive taxonomy of attacks connected to various vulnerabilities. Following a case study on the long-term viability of smart agriculture, we primarily concentrated on IoT vulnerability evaluation techniques. This study concludes by outlining the current issues with IoT sustainability and paving the way for new researchers to begin their work in this exciting field.
