This paper explores the potential of Physical layer security (PLS) in terahertz (THz) communications. Specifically, it investigates the adoption of the noise loop (NL) modulation in the THz band, aiming to enhance communication security by leveraging physical layer characteristics according to PLS principles. The study considers the impact of impairments significant in the THz band, such as phase and molecular noise. Through simulations and mathematical analyses, the paper offers insights into the performance of the NL technique in a THz communication link operating with a carrier at 237.7 GHz and a bandwidth of 5 GHz. Overall, this study contributes to the advancement of secure, reliable, and efficient wireless communications in advanced networks beyond 5G.
