With the rapid advancements in medical image encryption and information security, this work proposes a pre-processing encryption and decryption scheme based on a nonlinear function in the logistic map. The primary focus is to ensure the security of retinal images. The main concept involves incorporating two chaos sequences, supported by the corresponding original fingerprint, as the encryption key. Computer simulations and security analyses have been performed to validate the efficiency of our encryption system. Various evaluation metrics, including histogram analysis, sensitivity tests, correlation rate, peak signal-to-noise ratio (PSNR), and mean square error (MSE), which used to assess the achievement of the proposal algorithm and compared to other existing works in the literature. The results indicate that the encryption system offers robust protection against cryptographic attacks while preserving the integrity and privacy of medical images.
