Blinking detection is a technology that detects whether the eyes are opened and closed in a short period of time, which can realize the control of external devices or communication with the outside world. It is suitable for occasions where it is inconvenient to use hands and voice. Existing technologies such as optical detection and electroencephalography detection are difficult to be widely applied due to their inconvenience or limitations. Magnetic sensors with advantages of small size, high sensitivity, and non-contact measurement are expected to become one of the integrated modules of smart glasses. In this study, magnetic sensors are integrated into a pair of smart glasses, and flexible magnetic hairs are adhered to human eyelashes. The blinking action of human is analyzed by detecting the output changes of magnetic sensors during blinking. According to different blinking actions, functions such as barrier-free human-computer interaction and covert communication is obtained. This technology can be applied in environments such as cycling and driving, and also can be used to help disabled people control external devices or communicate with the outside world more conveniently. Therefore, this technology has great application potential in the field of wearable devices and covert communication.
