Computers in any form (personal, industrial, single board) are an integral part of all numerically controlled measuring systems. Their use enables not only the control of measurement systems but also the transfer and processing of measured data, including their presentation. In addition, their standard hardware interfaces, e.g., RS-232, USB, and LAN, allow easy connection of measuring units even in relatively complex and sophisticated measuring systems.
