Future of Agent-Oriented Systems Modeling

Michael E. Miller, Christina F. Rusnock · 2024

This chapter discusses advantages and limitations of the modeling approach provided in this text. Included is a discussion of the modeling approach and the desire for the approach to inspire the students to think differently about the integration of AI into existing human systems. Additionally, the chapter discusses the challenges associated with sustaining human–AI agent systems, the need to understand the impact of these systems, and some thoughts around implementing this type of system as part of a team where the human’s approaches are likely to evolve as they experience interaction with any tool, including an AI agent. Finally, the chapter provides a brief discussion of the limitations of current AI technologies for teaming and concluding thoughts on the replacement–augmentation dichotomy.
