The SightScan project is an innovative initiative aimed at empowering individuals with visual impairments by addressing challenges related to recognizing cash and understanding text. The primary goal of this system is to identify Indian currency and recognize text from photographs. The first component utilizes an advanced money identification system powered by convolutional neural networks, allowing users to accurately recognize and classify Indian rupee notes in real-time. This functionality promotes financial autonomy by providing precise information about banknote values. The second component involves sophisticated text recognition capabilities, enabling users to capture images containing text and extract and comprehend the textual content. This feature enhances access to printed documents for visually impaired individuals, offering a comprehensive solution that extends beyond mere currency identification. The SightScan project demonstrates the potential of technology to foster inclusion and improve the quality of life for those with visual impairments.
