The text describes the concept and development of a radar system based on multifunctional waveform generation and echo collection. The digital acquisition module of this radar system is based on Xilinx’s xczu49dr RFSoC gen3 chip, enabling the collaborative operation of the digital module and the RF section. It can generate and transmit any waveform, including common LFM, frequency encoding, phase encoding, etc., with 16 channels. The system can also synchronously collect signals from the RF frontend’s 16 channels at a 2.5GHz sampling rate. Data streaming to the host machine is achieved using the GT-based Aurora protocol at a rate of 40Gbps. The signal-to-noise ratio of the collected echoes is sufficient for detecting unmanned aerial vehicles (drones), and experiments based on this platform have demonstrated its usability for drone detection.
