AI implementations in cloud-based sign-in logs to detect brute force attack attempts

There is a lack of AI-based solutions that can detect Cloud-based Brute-Force attacks. The current methodologies followed for the purposes of protecting Cloud environments from Brute-Force attacks involve the incorporation of DES Keys and One-time Passwords (OTPs), centralizing Cloud resource access as well as applying IDS (Intrusion Detection Systems) on different network levels, as well as applying administrative controls over an environment to protect against said attack. This research aims to find an AI-based solution that can scan through Cloud user logs in order to find anomalies and atypical login/ usage patterns and report them to the corresponding technical administrator. The two major limitations of this research are that it focuses on Microsoft Azure as a main platform for applying this solution; rather than having a comprehensive approach that covers all Cloud service providers, we chose to focus on the most utilized one, especially from an organizational point of view, The second limitation of this study is that there is very little research conducted on AI applications in the context of Brute-Force attacks, which can make it a bit challenging to find relevant resources.
