Protocols as a Mechanism of Care

Elizabeth W. Edmondson · 2024

Novice teachers thrive when part of caring networks. Retention of teachers, especially those in high-need school districts, depends on them finding a support network that models care. This chapter investigates the ability of two protocols used in an induction model to engender care among and between the participants. The induction participants are novice teachers in their first two years of teaching after completing a Master of Teaching program supported by National Science Foundation Robert F. Noyce Track 1 Scholarships.
