Cloud computing refers to the practice of relying on an internet-connected network of remote servers for data storage, management, and processing. Although cloud computing aids growing organizations worldwide, it can also be contentious if fails to maintain proper regulatory procedures and data security measures. The cloud-based logging system is activated in response to an intrusion. It is a technology or a service which allows the users preserve their logs in a particular location and allow them to perform rapid searches to provide powerful visualizations in order to monitor their key metrics in a private cloud environment. It also highlights the role of log acquisition in various types of forensics such as digital forensics, grid forensics and computer forensics along with the challenges associated to it. Finally, a novel method for log management in private clouds that incorporates the detection of log sources and the accumulation of data via agents in a central log repository is presented in this study. After being ingested, data is processed and converted before it can be effectively indexed and queried. Then only authorized users should be granted access to the log repository by strictly enforcing authentication and access constraints. With the advancement of technology is moving towards cloud-based digitization rapidly due to which the need of cloud security is rising dramatically which forces the cloud professional to maintain detailed logs in order to protect sensitive data and prevent unrestricted access.
