First Time Right App - from university to industry
Alexander Nicolellis · 2024
The First Time Right App (FTRApp) is a cross-platform mobile and web application that allows users to fill out forms in a convenient manner. This project was proposed by Lely, who require their technicians to fill out forms when installing a set of machinery. The FTRApp assists with this process by maintaining a user and project information in its database, and using that data to automatically fill out form fields that are already known to the application. The FTRApp was built using the React Native and Django frameworks, and the Typescript and Python programming languages. In building this application, I had to overcome many technical challenges and hone my communication skills with my industry client and partner. It has taught me new frameworks as well as design principles like usability and maintainability. Creating a project to meet the requirements of an industry client rather than a school project has been a valuable experience that will serve me well in my future career.
