Being a Security Officer Is NOT an Easy Job

A security officer is responsible for protecting property and individuals and deterring theft, vandalism, and terrorism. Terrorism? Yes, the security officer must constantly be vigilant. They are watching for suspicious people or activities, and when something does happen, the security officer is usually the first on the scene. Security officers often have to confront individuals who are criminals, whether they are armed with a weapon or not. By doing this, they are placing themselves in danger for the job they are paid to do. Some security officers are responsible for operating the technology at their work site. This means they are watching the property using cameras and responding to alarms. Security officers are responsible for enforcing their employer’s property rules and procedures. Unfortunately, many times, this is not an easy task.
