Blockchain technology, computer network operations, and global value chains together make up “cybersecurity”

Ramiz Salama, Fadi M. Al-Turjman · 2024

In the modern digital era, cybersecurity is a complex task that demands a thorough understanding of developing technology and international economic networks. This chapter investigates how blockchain technology, computer network operations, and global value chains interact to collectively create the cybersecurity landscape. Cybersecurity is examined in the context of blockchain technology, which is well-known for its built-in security characteristics, including immutability and decentralized consensus. An in-depth analysis of this technology’s ability to improve data integrity, secure transactions, and strengthen authentication methods highlights its crucial role in protecting important digital assets. Modern cybersecurity methods include computer network operations, which include both defensive and offensive cyber actions. This study takes a comprehensive look at Chief of Naval Operations (CNOs), recognizing their importance in global value chain (GVC) protection, threat detection, and incident response. Additionally, it explores the moral and legal issues related to CNOs in cyberspace. GVCs are extremely susceptible to cyber threats because they are complex networks connecting companies, suppliers, and customers all over the world. In order to maintain the ongoing flow of goods and services, the study emphasizes the crucial necessity of GVCs to the global economy and assesses how vulnerable they are to cyberattacks. This study explains the interdependencies between blockchain technology, CNOs, and GVCs by fusing these components, laying the groundwork for a robust and flexible cybersecurity architecture. To show how these ideas might be used in practice to address current cybersecurity concerns, real-world case studies and best practices are investigated. In conclusion, this study contributes to a thorough understanding of the interactions between computer network operations, blockchain technology, and global value chains that characterize the growing notion of cybersecurity. It highlights the need for a comprehensive strategy to protect digital assets and crucial infrastructure in a world that is becoming more linked and digital.
