Smart waste management systems using the Internet of Things (IoT) and Machine Learning (ML) have emerged as a promising solution to optimize waste collection and disposal. An abstract of such a system, includes sensors placed in waste containers that measure the waste level and send data to a central server via wireless communication. The ML algorithm is used to analyze the data collected from sensors to predict and optimize the waste collection schedule. The proposed system has several benefits, including reducing operational costs, enhancing environmental sustainability, and improving the quality of life for citizens by reducing litter, odors, and pests. Additionally, the system promotes public health and safety by providing real-time information on waste levels and potential hazards, thereby mitigating the risk of disease outbreaks and accidents. Overall, the IoT and ML-based smart waste management system presented in this study offers a promising solution to optimize waste management processes. By leveraging IoT technology and machine learning algorithms, the system enhances operational efficiency, reduces environmental impact, ensures public health and safety, and encourages sustainable waste disposal practices, ultimately contributing to a cleaner and more sustainable environment
