Data Acquisition and Monitoring Framework for Waste Management Using Intelligent Sensors and Thing Speak IoT Analytics for Health Monitoring in Smart Cities

Karan Belsare, Manwinder Singh, Anudeep Goraya · 2024

Population expansion and massive migrations of residents from traditional to smart cities created issues for these cities due to their exponential growth. Controlling, managing and processing the standard output of garbage is the most prevalent significant issue that smart cities face. The leading causes of complicated trash management are the expanding population and resource limitations in waste management operations. Smart cities utilise an intelligent waste management system to handle this complex procedure. The internet of things (IoT) and LoRa technology were used in this research to provide an autonomous technique for achieving an efficient and intelligent waste parameter monitoring system for an innovative waste management system. Using IoT and the Thing Speak Cloud Platform, which can be installed in multiple locations, the garbage level, odour level, air quality level, garbage weight, smoke level and waste types are continuously monitored.
