Nathalie Bonnardel · Edward Elgar Publishing eBooks · 2024
This entry focuses on activities that lead to the design of products, processes or services, referred to as design activities. We begin by describing the characteristics of these activities, the roles of the main cognitive processes, and the importance of taking future users' specificities into account during design activities. We then emphasize the necessity of inter- and transdisciplinary practices within a common frame of reference, citing a model of cooperation. Finally, adopting an applied point of view, we mention some of the methods, techniques and standards intended to promote designers' activities, as well as modalities of human‑machine interactions that can support creative design activities.
