CHALLENGES IN THE INTERNET OF THINGS (IOT)

Sharad Jadhav · 2023

Connecting disparate devices and systems, the Internet of Things (IoT) is revolutionizing our world by making everything smarter and more efficient. Nevertheless, to fully realize its promise, the Internet of Things (IoT) must overcome the numerous obstacles that have emerged as a result of its fast expansion. From a technical, security, and ethical perspective, this abstract summarizes the main obstacles in the Internet of Things (IoT) environment. Problems with scalability, standardization, and interoperability are examples of technical difficulties. Unified standards and protocols are necessary to overcome the challenges of device and communication protocol heterogeneity and achieve seamless integration. Another major issue with widespread Internet of Things implementation is making sure it can expand to handle an ever-increasing number of linked devices. Internet of Things (IoT) security is still a major concern. Cybercriminals can more easily target IoT systems due to the increased attack surface created by the extensive network of linked devices. Secure communication, device authentication, and data privacy are critical concerns that must be addressed to build trust and protect sensitive information inside the IoT framework. The future of the Internet of Things is heavily influenced by ethical factors. Concerns about data ownership, user consent, and ethical information usage emerge as gadgets gather and analyze vast quantities of data. Fostering public trust and ensuring the responsible evolution of IoT technology requires striking a balance between innovation and ethical principles. When thinking about long-term environmental sustainability, it is crucial to consider how efficient the energy consumption of IoT devices is. An important consideration in the creation and implementation of IoT solutions is striking a balance between the need for more functionality and the requirement to conserve energy. Researchers, legislators, and industry professionals can use this abstract as a starting point to explore the many facets of the Internet of Things (IoT) problems and work together to find solutions. To fully utilize this revolutionary technology while guaranteeing a safe, ethical, and sustainable future, it is crucial to have a thorough grasp of these obstacles as the Internet of Things (IoT) landscape keeps changing.
