The industrial globalization of the appeal industry to meet the rising population demand shows enormous growth in the last decade. Today the global plastic market valuation is more than 457.73 billion USD and still rising. Due to the increase in demand and its durability nature synthetic polymer is used in every daily use essential of human life. Increasing production, mismanagement, and improper handling of these synthetic fibers create pollution and hazardous environmental effects. Today microfibers are minuscule synthetic fiber particles formed from larger fiber products, the major plastic pollutants of the environment, which gain attention in the research community. These tiny particles (size ranges from10Onm to5mm) are released into the environment by dumping & landfill municipal waste, household laundering and waste disposal, sewage mismanagement, textile, and cosmetic industrial effluent, etc., found everywhere from the deep ocean to inaccessible mountains and enter the food system of living organisms by indirect ingestion. Due to the minuscule size, it was not easy to manage these fiber particles, sometimes they cannot be visible properly, and they are inert and nondisposable in nature. In this paper, we review some innovative methods & technologies to counter microfiber pollution using biological decomposition methods such as Biodegradation using microorganisms, algal absorption, and membrane technology in a sustainable manner. The release of energy during the processes will be reported.
