Big data analysis is one of the primary significant research topics in recent decades. The security of big data provides cloud application security and manages to host extremely sensitive data to support the platform of a cloud. However, the security and privacy of big data have become a arising problem that limits organizations from employing cloud services. To overcome this problem, the Rivest Shamir Adleman with Bit Insertion Technique (RSA-BIT) is proposed for security and privacy protection based on big data in cloud. Initially, range of file size 100 MB to 700 MB is obtained to evaluate the proposed technique. The Hadoop Distributed File System (HDFS) federation and HDFS high-availability approaches are combined to disperse NameNode (NN) service from single to various servers and Zookeeper distributed coordination technique is employed to arrange every node to attain a dual-storage channel. The RSA is utilized for encryption with BIT to enhance security and privacy of RSA against various attacks. The RSA-BIT achieves a better encryption time of 150 ms in 100 MB file size compared to existing techniques like Advanced Encryption Standard (AES), Data Encryption Standard (DES), and RSA respectively.
