Exposure-Based contrast enhancement method for low contrast Images using the entropy curve

This paper presents a novel technique for enhancing image contrast by equalizing the image's entropy curve. The main advantage of entropy curve is that, it utilizes comprehensively contains information for each grey level, while conventional histogram based methods just use frequency of grey levels. Hence equalization of entropy curve provide better enhancement in detail without over/under enhancement in a regions with extreme grey levels. Through a comparative examination across multiple Histogram Equalization (HE) based methods and cutting-edge approaches, the effectiveness of the proposed technique stands out prominently, showcasing its superiority.
