A rapid development of Internet of Things (IoT) devices is currently connected to the network, and as a result of technological advancements, security vulnerabilities and cyberattacks, such as botnets, are emerging and expanding quickly with high-risk attacks. In a number of recent studies, methods for machine learning (ML)- and deep learning (DL)-based botnet attack detection and classification in the IoT environment have been developed. ML techniques for categorizing binary classes are suggested in this book chapter. The detailed description of key features in IoT, the disadvantages and advantages of the IoT, the applications of IoT, the different types of IoT attack, and the traditional method of the IoT botnet detection are clearly described in this chapter.
