The Blockchain network is used to send and receive data for creating tamper-proof records of shared agreements. This technology ensures that the data is stored securely and cannot be easily modified by anyone. Blockchain is a crucial component of digital data exchange, as it enables the creation of a distributed database that is replicated and shared across a network. It was originally developed for Bitcoin and is designed to maintain an immutable and transparent ledger of transactions by storing information in a series of blocks that are resistant to alteration or damage. Every block in the chain will be linked with the previous block present in the chain with the help of hashes of the preceding block of the chain. Blockchain is about to revolutionize every area of digital commerce. Blockchain is more important than the Internet. When you combine Blockchain and the Internet of Things (IoT), you get two far bigger deals than the Internet that require each other for a variety of reasons. It is normal for this to happen that the Blockchain which is also known as the technology of the ledger in the distributed form will provide its function to help in making the gadgets correspond directly with one another. Freight transportation, component tracking, and compliance log operational maintenance data are some of the areas where we can feel the presence of IoT and Blockchain. Some of the benefits that can take can be, relying on security, getting flexibility while handling the data, etc. This chapter will provide the concept of Blockchain security in fog computing and the IoT. Research and development in this area is still ongoing, and further work is needed to address these challenges and fully realize the potential benefits of combining blockchain and fog computing for security.
