Smart TERRY: an IOT-based Autonomous Smart Terrarium Management System for Bearded Dragon Pet Enthusiasts

This study introduces TERRY, an IoT-based Autonomous Smart Terrarium Management System tailored for bearded dragons. Recognizing the challenges faced by pet enthusiasts in effective terrarium management, TERRY integrates sensors and actuators to monitor and regulate crucial parameters. The system includes an intuitive mobile app, providing users with real-time insights, remote control functionalities, air quality analysis, feeding management, maintenance reminders, historical data tracking, and timely alerts. Evaluation results from 30 participants using the PSSUQ questionnaire reveal high acceptability, with users finding the system highly useful and expressing overall satisfaction. TERRY addresses challenges in bearded dragon terrarium care and paves the way for future IoT-based pet care systems advancements. The study showcases the potential of innovative solutions to enhance the well-being of animal companions, marking a significant step in smart terrarium management.
