Data Security is a major concern in digital communications. The Various ways of ensuring security of the transmitted data include water marking, Cryptography and Stegano graphy. Stegano graphy is a technique used to hide the presence of data using a cover so that the intruder will not be able to figure out the message that is kept inside as to him it is only the cover that appears. The different media that can be used as covers include text, audio, video and image. The most widely used cover is an image because of its high redundancy. It also serves as an effective media to communicate one’s thoughts. The basic classification of stegano graphic techniques include spatial domain Techniques and Transform domain Techniques. This paper ensures a detailed analysis and comparison of spatial domain technique, transform domain technique and Hybrid technique. Their performances are evaluated using the Mean Square Error (MSE) and Peak Signal to Noise Ratio (PSNR).
