Virtualization technology is one of the core technologies in cloud computing platforms. Building a private cloud computing platform based on virtualization technology can reduce operational costs, simplify management, and improve system high availability. This study, using a literature review approach, aims to explore how universities can utilize virtualization technology to construct private cloud computing platforms. The research findings indicate that platform planning needs to comprehensively consider the scale of computing resources, performance requirements, and availability needs of universities, and choose appropriately configured virtualization host servers. Current system applications have achieved some success, but there are still challenges in protecting intellectual property during implementation. The research demonstrates that improving resource utilization and system security can facilitate the application of virtualization technology in private cloud computing platforms for universities. The study results provide valuable insights for universities looking to build private cloud computing platforms using virtualization technology.
