Eye Tracking Preregistration Template

Libby Jenke, Nicolette J. Sullivan · 2024

We offer this template to enhance transparency in the eye tracking research process, establish clear parameters for researchers’ analyses, delineate a priori hypotheses, and formally document a study’s existence. It encompasses the fundamental stages of preregistration (e.g., research inquiries, hypotheses, experimental conditions, etc.), while also detailing essential elements specific to eye tracking studies (e.g, criteria for exclusion, type of eye tracker utilized, construction of areas of interest (AOIs), employed eye tracking processing algorithms, and minimum fixation duration). Additionally, we differentiate between preregistration items for infrared and webcam eye tracking.
