Improved Modified Plain Gradient Adaptive IIR Notch Filter for Frequency Estimation

This paper presents an improved modified plain gradient (IMPG) algorithm for a second-order adaptive IIR notch filter (ANF) for frequency estimation. An error function of MPG is modified by squaring before taking the derivative. By using this technique, the initial value-setting problem of MPG is overcome. Computer simulations are drawn to support the claim.
