Rohini Mahajan, Sumanpreet Kaur, Rashmi Choudhar · 2024

In more than a decade of research, image processing has become an increasingly contentious topic. With the swift advancement of current information technology, digital image processing technology has advanced swiftly and has become standard in daily living and industry. Digital image processing is consistently an up-and-coming field, and it readily transfers advanced multimedia data for human comprehension and analysis of picture information for capacity, transmission, and representation for machine perception. Image processing implies the application of signal processing techniques to the realm of images—two-dimensional signals such as images or video. In an assortment of sectors, such as forensic science, vehicle detection, military applications, face, iris, and signature identification, to mention a few, digital image processing has become more accessible than ever. in modern times image processing is very significant, especially in real-time, where the ramifications of real-time image processing fails can be severe; consequently, research and study in real-time image processing methods has become extremely paramount. The basic idea of digital image processing is addressed briefly in this study, alongside some of the most recent scientific advances. When processing images digitally, it is possible to give the input section flexible values for various algorithms, which eliminates noise and distortion issues. Therefore, it merits more advantages than analog based image processing. Due to the widespread availability of efficient computers, big memory devices, graphics software, etc., image-processing systems are quite prevalent today. This work has investigated a range of image processing techniques to acquire insight into the core concepts and show how to use them in various contexts.
