Robots are changing medicine. The contextual background of this paper is the existing healthcare system in Switzerland and current job profiles. A closer look was taken at which robots are currently being built in Switzerland in 2022 and where they are used in medicine. It was found that robots are used in various medical institutions and specialties. Currently, robots can be divided into operations, humanoid, animal, and transport robots, which are used to assist doctors, therapists, and nurses. This master’s thesis will address the following topic: How the Use of Robots will Change Job Profiles in Healthcare. In order to find out how job profiles in medicine are changing due to the use of robots, 25 experts were interviewed who work or do research in medicine and are well acquainted with robotics. The most important findings are that job profiles in medicine will change as a result of the use of robots, although not all medical specialties and professional groups will be equally affected from the beginning. In the future, new training models will become relevant, so that the profession can create new knowledge and patients can continue to benefit from the highest levels of safety and precision.
