Internet of Things (IoT) as a technology has been rapidly evolving and being adopted across different business verticals. With the number of IoT devices getting connected to the Internet rapidly increasing, uniue challenges of scalability and freshness of data collected has become crucial to most of the IoT applications. Wide variety of usages such as in the fields of healthcare, industries and home automation encourages us to address the data distribution in such networks. Existing works in this direction have shown us promising signs of adaptability like clustering techniues where the network is clustered to deliver the packets to such cluster. However, it sure brings in the overhead of clustering the network. The multi-cast protocols developed for RPL seems to be viable option for deployment with very less overhead and the dynamic nature of the network maintenance which supports rapid joining and leaving of the network nodes. In this paper, we develop a multicast protocol for concurrently distributing data, addressing the shortcomings of the existing multicast protocols.
