Optimal Cybersecurity Management of an IP Video Surveillance System

Evgenia Tsarkova · 2023

The purpose of the study is to solve the urgent problem of building a system for protecting IP video surveillance computer networks used in the work of situational centers of law enforcement agencies from the spread of computer viruses. A mathematical model for protecting a computer network from malicious code was built based on the MSEIRS model. This model is versatile and universal, as it takes into account many factors that influence the state of the network: time parameters of infection for specific viruses and treatment of the network using an antivirus, the average speed of immunization and involuntary disconnection of computers from the network. The result of the study of the model is a developed program that allows you to assess the security of an IP video surveillance network and, if necessary, apply effective methods to combat the spread of computer epidemics. Computational experiments were carried out and analyzed. For this purpose, two cases are considered: the spread of the virus (epidemic) progressing over time and network and the absence of significant fluctuations in the number of infected computer network nodes.
