Steganography Techniques for Encrypted Cover File

Data transmission over unsecured communication channels is still the biggest challenge in terms of security of transmitted data. One of the most significant trends in 2023 is attacks on secure data transmission systems. In addition, more and more attacks are targeting healthcare organizations. Therefore, the authors propose a steganographic system designed to further protect medical data transmitted over the network. This system includes both cryptographic and steganographic methods. A functional model of the embedding and extraction process has been developed. A breakdown of the basic process into four steps is described. An expert study is conducted to determine the most appropriate method of steganographic data embedding. An experimental study to determine the most appropriate cryptographic method of data protection is also carried out. Quality indicators of steganographic embedding in the container image encrypted by different cryptographic methods are calculated.
